(TAP) - Minister of Communication Technologies Mohamed Naceur Ammar led a delegation to the 14th session of the Arab Information Technology Ministers' Council held Thursday in Sanaa, Yemen.
Taking the floor, the minister reviewed progress made by Tunisia in the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector and stressed President Ben Ali's keenness to strengthen the role of these technologies in the country's development programmes.
He emphasised Tunisia's commitment to contribute to the success of Arab projects and programmes in this area, highlighting the importance of "ICT 4 All Tunis+5 Forum" to be held this year in November in Hammamet on the theme: "Youth and ICT."

On the sidelines of this session, the minister had talks with his Yemeni, Iraqi and Djiboutian counterparts and with several heads of delegation. Talks focused on ways to strengthen bilateral and multilateral co-operation in the areas of communication, post and information technology.
In his capacity as chairman of the Public Association of the Arab ICT Organisation, he presided over this association's extraordinary elective session to renew its board.
The minister stressed Tunisia's will to strengthen inter-Arab co-operation in all areas, particularly in the ICT sector, underlining the efforts exerted by Tunisia to contribute to the success of projects and programmes of the Arab ICT Organisation.
